A Passion for Fishing
My name is Duncan McIntyre, but you’ll hear me called ‘Mac’ around the lake. Based in the Bay Area and Lake Almanor, CA I have always loved to fish, and fish Lake Almanor in particular. I’ve held careers as a teacher, football coach, wood worker and a plumber all with the dream of retiring one day to focus solely on my passion for fishing this lake. I’ve been fortunate enough to have realized that dream and have been living it since 2008 and am excited to have you join me on a trip soon!
I’ve taken hundreds of people fishing on Lake Almanor over the last decade and love sharing my 30+ years of experience fishing here. If you have any questions about taking a trip with me feel free to keep scrolling, but I am ALWAYS happy to answer any questions you have if you would ever like to reach out directly.
Lake Almanor, CA
You can find Lake Almanor accessible from most of the Northern California/Reno Area. Just 4 hours from the SF Bay Area and 2 hours from Reno we see anglers and outdoor enthusiasts from all over the area. The lake is popular for fishing for Small mouth bass, Salmon, Rainbow and Brown Trout with multiple tournaments and charity events taking place throughout the spring and summer.
The Experience
I want everyone to have a relaxing and enjoyable time when they’re out on the lake, and for me that starts with the boat and equipment you will be using while aboard.
All trips are taken aboard my 21 ft. pontoon boat making it easy for those with mobility issues or just a bad back (me included) to enjoy a day out in comfort. If you have any questions about accessibility please reach out directly, I have experience hosting anglers with an array of disabilities and am happy to answer any questions you may have.
Along with the boat you will also be fishing with a complete set of custom, hand-wrapped fishing rods and top of the line reels to ensure we take every chance we can to land a fish when it bites! Don’t worry if you have kids or inexperienced members in your party though, I love introducing people to fishing and take a patient approach to guiding them as they learn.
Contact
I am available for guide services throughout the summer. My preferred method of contact is by phone, but feel free to reach out via email/text as well:
